Metal parts can be located with the aid of suitable metal detectors. But how do you find silicone products, for example, from which De-panning belt vacuum suction cups are made? These products are used, for example, to lift bread, cake and pastries out of their mould/trays etc. In view of the large number of suction cups used in the food-handling industry, it is possible for a suction cup to be damaged, a part of it dropping into the food. Up to now, such parts could not be detected.
E-Components and Chains Limited (ECC) have recognized this potential problem and have now introduced their Detectamet detectable vacuum suction cups made of a food grade-approved silicone material.
The new Detectamet de-panning suction cups are available in 2 grades of material designed to suit specific bakery products:
